Walk to stamp out hunger

October 4, 2013

Wapakoneta area residents walk during the CROP walk. The event scheduled for Sunday is to start and end at St. Paul United Church of Christ.

People may walk a mile or two for recreation or exercise.
On Sunday, a two-mile walk would help those in need of food as the 9th annual CROP Walk is held in Wapakoneta.
“Last year we had approximately 75 walkers and the CROP walk is not only to raise money for hunger locally and worldwide, but it is also to raise awareness about hunger issues here in the area and worldwide,” said Wapakoneta resident Darrel Acker, who is organizing Sunday’s event which starts and ends at St. Paul United Church of Christ.
For more information about the hunger cause, see the Friday, Oct. 4 edition of the Wapakoneta Daily News.
