Virginia Hoelscher, 89

Virginia Ann Hoelscher, 89, of New Knoxville, died at 1:40 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2012, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in St. Marys.
She was born Jan. 21, 1923, in Wapakoneta, the daughter of Rose (Burk) and John Pitthan, who preceded her in death. On April 13, 1946, she married Myron Hoelscher, and he preceded her in death on Nov. 12, 2003.
Surviving are a son, Doug (Linda) Hoelscher, of New Knoxville; a daughter, Deborah (Ron) Wood, of Sheridan, Wyo.; six grandchildren, Michele Hoelscher, Keith Hoelscher, Erica Wood, Erin Wood, Emily Wood, and Ethan Wood; and a great-grandchild, Kennedy Hoelscher.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Florence Winemiller, Jeannette Fast, and Dorothy Steele.
Virginia was a 1940 graduate of Blume High School in Wapakoneta. She had formerly worked at Westinghouse Corporation in Lima and was a homemaker; she also assisted in the operation of the family farm.
She was a member of the First United Church of Christ in New Knoxville. She enjoyed going to garage sales and flea markets.
Services are at 2 p.m. Monday at First United Church of Christ in New Knoxville, with the Rev. David Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Pilger Ruhe Cemetery.
Friends may call from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday in the Heritage Room of the church.
Contributions may be given to the Radio Broadcast Fund of the Church.

Funeral arrangements are under the care of the Vornholt-Miller Funeral Home in New Knoxville.
