Viola Thuman, 98

Viola L. Thuman, 98, of Wapakoneta, died at 3:09 p.m. Wed-nesday, Nov. 23, 2011, at Auglaize Acres.
She was born May 11, 1913, in Auglaize County, the daughter of Anna (Leininger) and Jacob H. Zorn, who preceded her in death. On Jan. 26, 1933, she married Lloyd R. Thuman, and he died April 9, 1988.
Surviving are two sons, Larry J. (Pat) Thuman, of Wapakoneta, and Bruce L. (Joyce) Thuman, of Wapakoneta; a daughter, Patty L. (John) Brentlinger, of Wapakoneta; seven grandchildren, Eric (Rachel) Brentlinger, Aaron Brentlinger, Kevin (Laurie) Thuman, Tracy (Michael) Clinger, Todd (Jackie) Thuman, Ryan (Niki) Thuman, and Matt (Stephanie) Thuman; 12 great-grandchildren, Alison Brentlinger, Kathryn (Mark) Langenderfer, Jacob Thuman, Brent Thuman, Elisha (Micheal) Converse, Seth Thuman, Hannah Clinger, Sarah Clinger, and Jaden, Chance, Ella, and Gracelyn Thuman; and two great-great-grandchildren, Silas Langenderfer and Makahla Thuman.
She was preceded in death by a son, Allan R. Thuman; a grandson, Kerry Thuman; a sister, Freda Zorn Bielefeld; and a brother Lawrence Zorn.
A homemaker, Viola was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Wapakoneta. She was active with the Women’s Circle of the church, and with the church’s ministry of sending care packages to military personnel in Vietnam. She enjoyed playing cards, dancing, caring for her pet dogs, and eating at the Wapakoneta Lucky Steer. She loved music, singing, and playing the piano and organ.
Services are at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, in Wapakoneta, with the Rev. Mark Bauer officiating. Burial is to follow at Greenlawn Cemetery, in Wapakoneta.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Bayliff & Eley Funeral Home, St. Rt. 501, Wapakoneta and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church.
