Village mulls brick options

June 11, 2014

BOTKINS — A representative from the Botkins Beautification Club addressed council at a regular meeting to discuss leaving the possibility open for more engraved bricks to be added to the Botkins Veterans Park in future years.

Council members discussed whether laying down sand, as opposed to asphalt, would be a better option in the park walkway, if they are wanting to replace blank bricks with engraved in the future.

Woodruff said once locals saw the work begin, the club started getting more orders for engraved bricks.

“It’s a fundraiser for us, but, to me, it’s more than a fundraiser,” Woodruff said. “It’s an opportunity for it to be an ability for someone to continue to be recognized throughout the years.”
