W-G boys make it eight straight titles By BRYAN CRAFT Staff Writer LIMA — The Waynesfield-Goshen Tigers varsity boys track team claimed their eighth consecutive conference title, while the girls team finished runner-up Saturday at the seventh annual Northwest Central Conference tournament. “Eight in a row for us,” Gray Horn said. “It feels amazing just to know after all this time we can still uphold our tradition and hold our spot in the NWCC.” “We’ve been working really hard to do it,” Candace Muir said. “The girls performed well. I know we had a lot of firsts. I’m the only senior and I did pretty good, I guess.” “It feels great,” Riley Huffer said. “It pays off for all the work we’ve done this year. It feels really good to win for the eighth time. “I feel I did pretty well this year and on today’s meet and feel the team did very well, too. We all competed and worked very hard. I worked hard all four years, we won league every year and carried on the tradition.” Horn was named the boys Most Valuable Player, winning four events. I think I’m going to have a good year. I feel good, I’m healthy. That’s what I’m more thankful for than any is that I’m healthy and I’m able to do this.
