Mike Place MASSILLON — Mike Place was inducted into the ASA softball Hall of Fame in Massillon Ohio March 10. Place started playing softball for Ametek in Wapakoneta in 1983. He then went on to play for teams such as Don Knasels, JR Edwards, Tammy Lynn Inn and many others, but Honda was the team that he enjoyed playing for the most.

His softball career includes five top 10 finishes in the ASA “A” and Major Industrial Nationals, winning six state championships, three MVP’s and one gold glove. He had a life time batting average of .618. He would like to thank his wife Kris, father Junior Place and the rest of his family for all their support. Place resides in Anna with his wife and children, Olivia and Isaac. His son Eric resides in St. Marys. |
