Wapakoneta sinks Elida

LIMA — The Wapakoenta Redskins varsity swim team picked up a victory over the Elida Bulldogs Thursday at the Lima YMCA Annex.
The girls team won 78-13, while the boys took home a 62-15 win.
Placing first for the girls were Alexis Salsbury in the 200 freestyle (2:26.23) and 100 backstroke (1:17.80), Madison Ruedebusch in the 200 individual medley (2:33.25) and 500 freestyle (6:19.47), Kelsey Borgert in the 50 freestyle (28.09) and 100 freestyle (1:03.94), Megan Scott in the 100 butterfly (1:24.16) and Katie Krock in the 100 backstroke (1:24.82).
The 200 medley relay team of Salsbury, Kaitlyn Kantner, Scott and Karli Krock finished first with a time of 2:22.94. The 200 freestyle relay team of Karli Krock, Scott, Kayla Prater and Kaysi Lyall took first with a time of 2:02.25. The 400 freestyle relay team of Breanna Borgert, Kelsey Borgert, Salsbury and Ruedebusch finished first with a time of 4:28.6.
Finishing first for the boys were Brett Latham in the 200 freestyle (2:20.78) and 100 butterfly (1:12.09), Shane Slechter in the 200 individual medley (2:39.59), Seth Fahncke in the 50 freestyle (25.19) and 100 freestyle (54.44), Mike Miller in the 500 freestyle (6:56.19), Matt Lawrence in the 100 backstroke (1:17.62) and Brady Prater in the 100 breaststroke (1:12.91).
The 200 medley relay team of Slechter, Lawrence, Mike Miller and Clayton Kantner finished first with a time of 2:06.63. The 400 freestyle relay team of Miller, Latham, Fahncke and Prater also finished first with a time of 3:58.87.
Taking second for the girls were Katie Krock in the 200 individual medley (2:50.72), Shelby Fisher in the 50 freestyle (32.47), Alyssa Stiger in the 100 butterfly (1:29.31) and Breanna Borgert in the 100 freestyle (1:06.31) and 100 backstroke (1:21.09).
Placing second for the boys were Lawrence in the 200 freestyle (2:23.70), Miller in the 50 freestyle (25.69), Slecther in the 100 butterfly (1:17.06), Prater in the 100 freestyle (55.84) and Clayton Kantner in the 500 freestyle (6:59.41) and 100 backstroke (1:18.28).
The 200 medley relay team of Hillary Kinstle, Fisher, Lyall and Stiger finished second in a time of 2:23.94. The 200 freestyle relay team of Fisher, Kinstle, Amber Valenti and Kaitlyn Kantner took second in a time of 2:12.66. The 400 freestyle relay team of Valenti, Katie Krock, Kayla Prater and Stiger took second with a time of 4:57.41.
Ending in third was Scott in the 500 freestyle (7:19.69).
