By KAREN CAMPBELL Assistant Managing Editor A Wal-Mart pharmacist declined to fill an out-of-town prescription Friday as it was written from a physician under investigation. Wapakoneta Police Chief Russ Hunlock said they received a call from the pharmacy of the store at 1257 Bellefontaine St. at 1:30 p.m. reporting that they had a subject in the store with what they believed was a fraudulent prescription. “They were trying to get the fraudulent prescription filled,” Hunlock said. Although it was later determined that Jamie Mace, 27, of Stout, and April White, of Portsmouth, may not have had an actual fraudulent prescription, the pharmacist did not want to fill the prescription since the physician who wrote it is under investigation. Neither Mace nor White was charged with anything in the matter. The physician in question is Dr. Joon Chong of Portsmouth. “It’s under investigation,” Hunlock said of the case involving the physician and the prescription for Oxycondone. At 7:50 p.m. Friday Kyle Farley, 24, of Franklin Furnace, came in trying to get the same prescription filled, and pharmacists also declined to fill the prescription.
