The Waynesfield-Goshen midget Tigers football team is enjoying the same success as the high school squad this season as both continue their winning ways.
While the varsity Tigers are off to a 5-1 start, the midget Tigers aren’t that far behind at 3-1 thanks to their third straight victory this past weekend. The Tigers shut out the Ridgemont Golden Gophers by a score of 12-0. Leading the way for the Tigers defense was Colton Miller, who had 10 tackles including five solo tackles. Also for W-G, Gabe Wilcox, Nathaniel Henline, Joliffe Huber and Jeremy Sitcler all had five tackles each. James Elliott collected four tackles and Mitchell Shaw added three tackles. Jeron Hennon, Lucas Gray, Zach Tate, Nate Eastman and Brandon Bly chipped in two tackles each. Lake Turner intercepted two passes for the Tigers. Offensively, Miller led the team again with 82 yards rushing and two touchdowns on 14 carries. He also had two pass receptions for 26 yards. Also for the Tigers, Hennon totaled 25 yards on six carries and Turner was 3-of-4 passing for 40 yards The midget Tigers are back in action on Saturday when they host the LCC Thunderbirds with the junior varsity contest starting at 5:30 p.m. at the Waynesfield-Goshen High School football field. |
