For 45 minutes, the roar of motorcycles could be heard passing under an American flag hanging from two ladder trucks. For 45 minutes, area residents gathered in the shadow of the Auglaize County Courthouse and Wapakoneta Fire Station waved and clapped as motorcyclists rode by.
The smiles and waves turned into clapping and cheers as the Vietnam Memorial Traveling Wall passed down Willipie Street on its way to Custenborder Field in Sidney where it was greeted by a field of American flags.

Wapak man escorted from home
Friday, 04 December 2009
By KAREN CAMPBELL
Assistant Managing Editor
A Wapakoneta man was escorted from his home at 1:20 p.m. Wednesday after he felt that he could not leave by himself because of threats he received.
Wapakoneta Police Chief Russ Hunlock said James Valentine called for an officer to come to 405 S. Blackhoof St. after he alleged that Jeff Hudnall threatened to hurt him and he could not leave the building or lock the door.
“He wanted to leave the apartment complex, so he was escorted out,” Hunlock said. “Hudnall could not be found.”
A full report was not complete and ages of the men not available. A current address for Hudnall also was not available, Hunlock said.
