By KAREN CAMPBELL Assistant Managing Editor A Uniopolis man was cited with disorderly conduct for his involvement in an ongoing feud Thanksgiving day with his girlfriend’s former boyfriend who was in from out of town. According to the report discussed by Wapakoneta Police Lt. Greg Lowry, Derrick Anderson, 19, 180 W. South St., said at 9:05 p.m. Thursday that he had planned to fight with Zachary Voisin, 19, of Fort Campbell, Tenn. He accused Voisin of throwing a cup at a friend’s vehicle. The two pairs of friends — also including Zach Gonterman, 19, of Wapakoneta, and Chad Blood, 21, Harker Heights, Texas — followed each other around in their vehicles throughout the day, with claims made that vehicles were hit intentionally at Burger King and in the county. Minor damage was reportedly sustained by the vehicle. Anderson said he was upset Voisin came back and talked to his girlfriend, whom he dated four years ago.
Wapakoneta Police Department A Wapakoneta mother called for assistance after a note containing a paragraph from “The Scarlet Letter” was left on her daughter’s car at 10:50 a.m. Wednesday. According to the report: It is an ongoing problem, with this being the third note allegedly left by a 49-year-old Wapakoneta man for the 17-year-old girl. The notes have not been threatening or sexual in nature, but odd. The man admitted to leaving the first note but is now denying it. The case is still under investigation. • A counterfeit $100 bill was recovered from an Astro Lanes bank deposit at the First National Bank of New Bremen, at 10:55 a.m. Wednesday. According to the report: The bill had several indicators that it was not legitimate such as the color of the ink, a strip wider than it was supposed to be, USA upside down and writing around the picture illegible. The bill was turned over to the Secret Service in Toledo. It appears to be an isolated incident. • A 48-year-old Wapakoneta man was transported to an area hospital after a seizure caused him to crash as he went through the Chase Bank drive thru at 3:40 p.m. Wednesday at 801 Defiance St. According to the report: Kevin Thobe, 202 Eastown Drive, was driving a 2003 Chevy truck when a seizure caused him to lose control of the vehicle, hit a sign and then a brick pillar between islands. When officers arrived, Thobe, who was incoherent, was transported by Wapakoneta Rescue Squad to St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima. • A concerned stepson called at 5:15 a.m. Thursday saying that he thought his stepfather may try to harm himself.
