For 45 minutes, the roar of motorcycles could be heard passing under an American flag hanging from two ladder trucks. For 45 minutes, area residents gathered in the shadow of the Auglaize County Courthouse and Wapakoneta Fire Station waved and clapped as motorcyclists rode by.
The smiles and waves turned into clapping and cheers as the Vietnam Memorial Traveling Wall passed down Willipie Street on its way to Custenborder Field in Sidney where it was greeted by a field of American flags.

Man kicks out glass

A resident of 202 S. Rauthland Ave. was arrested on multiple charges at 1:05 a.m. Sunday after his wife called for assistance with a domestic situation.
The woman said her husband, who was allegedly inebriated, refused to let her in the house, according to a report from the Wapakoneta Police Department.
Wapakoneta Police Chief Dave Webb said Sammy Oquinn Jr., 29, was in the basement and refused to open the door for a short period of time after officers arrived.
When he did answer, he came to the door yelling obscenities at officers.
His wife was concerned that he was inside damaging property.
During conversations with Oquinn, officers warned him many times about his behavior and advised him that his wife did not want to file criminal domestic charges, but he continued to resist and was arrested for persistent and disorderly conduct.
After being placed in the back of the cruiser, Oquinn kicked at the door in attempts to get out and kicked through a window, shattering glass in a police officer’s face, Webb said.
Additional measures were taken to restrain Oquinn, who was transported to the Auglaize County Jail on additional charges of vandalism to government property, a fifth-degree felony, and resisting arrest.
Webb said they are looking into reimbursements for damage.

Once he remembered about the trash, he contacted a supervisor to make contact with the vehicle’s owner, but the supervisor was unable to advise her in time. Employees planned to make contact with Kinsella after the report was filed.

In the meantime, the 8-year-old boy he had been talking to ran away to a relative’s house on Auglaize Street.
