The Wapakoneta VFW donated a new American flag to Auglaize Acres nursing home in Wapakoneta in honor of all the veterans who reside at the facility.

The veterans were invited to view the ceremony in which they lowered the old flag and raised the new flag. A firing squad and color guard presented the 21 gun salute and played taps.

On Memorial Day, the Wapakoneta VFW will be marching in the Buckland parade, which starts at 10 a.m. on Monday, May 26. They will then be presenting the firing squad and 21 gun salute and playing taps at noon at the Veterans Memorial Park in Wapakoneta. Representatives from Wapakoneta veteran organizations will be attending the memorial program, including Freedoms Colors, AMVETS Post 333 and American Legion Post 330.
