Verlin Hirschfeld, 93

Verlin W. Hirschfeld, 93, of New Bremen, died at 10:20 p.m. Dec. 24, 2011, at the Convalarium at Indian Run in Dublin.
He was born Jan. 6, 1918, in New Bremen, the son of Emma A. (Oberwitte) and Edward G. Hirschfeld. On July 5, 1942, he married Enola Luedeke and she survives in Dublin.
Also surviving are two sons, Gary Hirschfeld, of Findlay, Craig Hirschfeld, of New Bremen; and a daughter, Christine Hirschfeld Kelser of Dublin.
Services are at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul United Church of Christ in New Bremen, with the Rev. Becky Erb Strang officiating. Burial will follow at German Protestant Cemetery in New Bremen.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home in New Bremen and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to the church memorial fund or to the New Bremen Foundation.
