Trojans record 1st win of season

Natalie Ambos posted five goals to help lead the Botkins Trojans to their first win of the season Tuesday with a 6-0 defeat of the Cory-Rawson Hornets in non-league varsity girls soccer action.

Botkins is now 1-6-2 overall this season.

Carly Harshbarger posted Botkins’ first goal of the game before Ambos scored five straight.

Keirstyn Rogers notched her first shutout of the season in goal, tallying three saves and three steals.

Rogers’ shutout included a second-half save on a Cory-Rawson penalty kick.

Ambos led Botkins with 11 steals. Sierra Butcher followed with seven.

Botkins will face Anna in a Shelby County Athletic League game Tuesday in Anna.
