CELINA — The Wapakoneta Redskins varsity boys track team finished second overall at the Celina Invitational on Saturday, while the girls team finished fourth.
The host Bulldogs won both meets.
For the boys, Wapak had winners in the 110-meter hurdles (Ryan Kremer, 16.9), 100 dash (Kevin Kraft, 11.97), 300 hurdles (Kremer, 43.55), Caleb Hennon (800 run, 2:03.01) and 200 dash (Brandon Christler, 23.59).
The Redskins also won the 400 relay with a time of 45.66. They were third in the 800 relay (1:39.59)
Will Hinegardner tied for second in the high jump at 5-foot-6. James Toth was second in the discus with a throw of 117-6.
Kraft took third in the long jump at 19-01.25. In the 400 dash, Alex Curtis placed third (53.58).
For the girls, Mallory McDevitt won the pole vault with a vault of 9-0. Megan Hayzlett took the top spot on the podium in the high jump at 5-1.
The 1,600-relay team placed third with a time of 4:33.23.
VERSAILLES BOYS INVITATIONAL
VERSAILLES — The Waynesfield-Goshen Tigers scored 142 points to edge the Russia Raiders (133) for first place in the Versailles Boys Invitational Orange Division on Saturday.
W-G’s Joliffe Huber swept both throwing events, posting a 141-7 in the discus and a 44-0.25 in the shot put.
Colton Miller was second in the long jump at 17-9.5 and second in the pole vault at 11-0.
In the high jump, Jeron Hennon cleared 5-4 to place third.
Eli O’Leary turned in a 5:03.21 to finish third in the 1,600 run. He matched that finish with a 2:10.62 in the 800 run.
James Elliot took third in the 100 dash with a 12:09 and third in the 200 dash with a 25-flat.
In the relays, W-G won the 400 (47.74), placed second in the 1,600 (3:46.71) and third in the 3,200 (9:07.68).View more articles in:
