TRACK: Botkins girls third in SCL

ANNA —  The Botkins Trojans varsity girls track team finished third at the Shelby County League meet Friday at Anna.

Botkins scored 112 points, eight points back of a runner-up finish.

Russia won the county title with 174 points.  Fort-Loramie was second with 120.

For Botkins, Brittany Bailey was the SCL champion in the 400 run with a time of 1:01.25.

Bailey also placed second in the 800 run at 2:21.73 and fourth in the 1,600 run at 5:23.8.

Liz Knoop, Allison Guckes and Bethany Christman joined Bailey to finish second in the 3,200 relay with a 10:10.4.

Becca Knoop won the 100 dash title (13.4) with Corinne Woodruff taking sixth (14.0).

Whitney Bornhorst was second (28.03) and Becca Knoop fourth (28.51) in the 200 dash.  Bornhorst also took third in the 300 hurdles, bettering her school record with a 48.43, and fifth in the 100 hurdles (17.41).

The 800 relay team of Allison Guckes, Bornhorst, Woodruff and Becca Knoop was third (1:53.65).

The 400 relay team of Guckes, Brandi Landreth, Woodruff and Lakota Running Hawk was fifth (56.41).

Liz Knoop was sixth in the 3,200 run (13:05.33)

The 1,600 relay team of Bethany Christman, Allison Guckes, Liz Knoop and Kaylee Bailey was third (4:35.7).

Kaitlin Underwood was second (108-feet-6) and Jocelyn Counts third (96-0) in disc.

Hailey Billing was third in high jump (4-10).

Kaitlin Underwood was second (34-0.25) and Colleen Greve was fourth (32-3) in shot put.
