The Waynesfield-Goshen Tigers narrowly missed out placing second Monday in a quad match, but they also nearly finished fourth.
W-G scored 195, one stroke behind second-place Upper Scioto Valley and two strokes ahead of Perry’s 197.
With a team score of 156, Arlington was the runaway winner of Monday’s match among the four schools in varsity boys golf action at Colonial Golfers Club in Harrod.
Lake Turner and Gabe Wilcox each tied for W-G’s lead at 46. Trey Crumrine followed with a 50. Drew Lament was the Tigers’ fourth scorer at 53.
Brandon Turner (56) and Caden Spencer (59) also played for W-G.
The Tigers' 1-2 record Monday even their season mark at 3-3 overall in match play.
W-G will resume its season next month in a Northwest Central Conference tri-match at Hidden Creek Golf Club in Lima.
