Thomas G. âTomâ Miller, 67, of Wapakoneta, died at 3:07 p.m. Monday, Sept. 17, 2012, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, Ind.
He was born March 25, 1945, in Lima, the son of Clara (Sager) and Henry M. Miller, who preceded him in death. On July 13, 1973, he married Susan H. Bogart, and she survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Thomas H. Miller, of Findlay, Jeffrey S. Ritchie, of Wapakoneta, Gregory L. (Nicki) Ritchie, of Wapakoneta; a daughter, Tabatha Sheely, of Findlay; 13 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Leo (Kim) Miller, of Tacoma, Wash.; a mother-in-law and father-in-law, Lois and Robert Bogart, of Wapakoneta; two brothers-in-law, Doug (Koi) Bogart, of Miamisburg, and Tim (Jeanne) Bogart, of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; and his cats, Rusty, Smokey and Mr. Whiskers.
He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Ivy Sheely; and a brother, Cletus B. Miller.
Tom retired from Roundyâs of Lima. He later worked with P.F.K. Construction. He was an all-around handyman and enjoyed woodworking. He attended First English Lutheran Church in Wapakoneta and was a veteran of the U.S. Army stationed in Germany. His memberships included the V.F.W. Post 8445, the Loyal Order of the Moose, the Amvets Post 333, and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Aerie 691, all of Wapakoneta.
Services are at 10:30 a.m. Friday at First English Lutheran Church in Wapakoneta, with the Rev. Steven Nelson officiating. Burial is to follow in the Greenlawn Cemetery, in Wapakoneta, where military rites will be conducted by the Wapakoneta V.F.W.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Bayliff & Eley Funeral Home, St. Rt. 501, Wapakoneta, and 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday at the church.
