The Wapakoneta Redskins suffered a 5-0 defeat at the hand of the perennial tennis power and Western Buckeye League favorite Shawnee Indians on Tuesday at the Rotary Club Courts at Wapakoneta High School.
Wapak fell to 1-2 on the season and 1-1 in the WBL. Shawnee is 4-0, 2-0 WBL.
In first singles, Wapak’s Nic Oen defeated Jason Barton 6-1 in the first set before Barton bounced back to win the next two sets 6-2 and 6-4.
Shawnee’s Zach Diltz knocked off Joey Jose 6-3, 6-0 in second singles.
Avinash Rajasekaran completed the singles sweep for the Indians, knocking off Andy Faller 6-1, 6-2 in third singles.
In first doubles, Shawnee’s Derek Smith and Garrett Diltz trumped Rex Azbell and Anthony Kennard 6-2, 6-2.
And in second doubles it was the Indians’ Josh Thomas and Scott Jettinghoff 6-1, 6-2 winners over Josh Moots and David Gertsner.
Wapak is at Bellefontaine at 4:30 p.m. today.
