Wapakoneta Redskins Taylor Law and Josie Miller posted the best individual results of the day for the Redskins at the 10th Annual St. Francis Knight Invitational varsity swim meet last weekend in Bowling Green and Toledo.
For Wapak, Law and Miller each recorded a sixth-place finish on Saturday. Law took the spot in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:06.10. Miller was sixth in the 50 freestyle at 25.61.
Law also posted a 10th-place finish in the 100 butterfly (1:04.11). Miller was 20th in the 100 backstroke (1:08.25).
For the boys team, Ryan Kremer turned in the best result of the event with an eighth-place finish in the 100 butterfly, completing the distance in 58.15. He also finished 13th in the 100 backstroke at 1:00.20.
Kremer teamed up with Brandon Christler, Ryan Greve and Nate Hager to place 13th in the 200-freestyle relay (1:36.45) and 10th in the 200-medley relay (1:48.83).
Hager took 18th in the 100 backstroke (1:01.37) and 16th in the 100 freestyle (51.94).
Greve was 21st in the 100 breaststroke (1:11.22).
Forty-six teams competed in the two-day event. Two sets of preliminary races were held Friday at Bowling Green State University and the University of Toledo.
The top 24 times from the prelims advanced to the finals Saturday night at UT.
The Redskins return to action Thursday at Ottawa-Glandorf.View more articles in:
