Students helping others during holidays
As many as 300 Wapakoneta High School students have given back to others this holiday season in a myriad of ways throughout the community.
“I believe that it is important for our staff and our kids to be active in our community at all times, especially around the Christmas season,” Wapakoneta High School Principal Aaron Rex said. “Our students are able to learn about what community service is and how to help others who may be in need whether it is a medical condition or financial need.
“We hope that this type of community involvement will carry over into their adult life,” he said, “and they will give back to others in the place that they call home.”
Rex said it is a great experience for the students and he appreciates that the staff encourages them to take part in it.
