Steven Leiss, 61

Steven Wayne Leiss, 61, of Quincy, passed away at 4:07 p.m. Monday, Jan. 7, 2013, surrounded by family and friends at his home.
He was born Sept. 2, 1951, in Sidney, the son of Lova Ella (Watkins) and Clarence Elmer Leiss. He was preceded in death by his father. His mother survives in Sidney. On Dec. 17, 2010, he married Yvonne Annette Ward Fair, who survives in Quincy.
Also surviving are three sons, Jared Nathan (Megan) Leiss, of Redford, Mich., Blake Allen Fair, of Lima, and Blaine Andrew Fair, of Lima; a daughter, Jennifer Lynn Leiss, of Sidney; six beautiful grandchildren; two brothers, Bill Leiss, of Sidney, and Mike (Deb) Leiss, of Anna; and two sisters, Darlene (Kenny) Maxwell, of Jackson Center, and Lois (Gibby) Gilbert, of Lima.
Steve graduated in 1969 from Sidney High School and attended ITT Tech in Columbus. He served in the National Guard for six years. He was an electrician for 10 years at Copeland in Sidney, retired in 2006 after 25 years at General Dynamics in Lima, and a farmer.
He was a member of the Emanuel Lutheran Church in Montra. Steve loved spending time with his family, living on the farm, fishing, and working outdoors.
Services are at 11 a.m. Saturday at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Montra, with the Rev. Shannon Vogelezang officiating. Following services, per Steve’s request, his body will be cremated.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Eichholtz-Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, 214 W. Pike Street, Jackson Center, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the church..
