Stephen Swartz, 60

Stephen P. Swartz, 60, of Lancaster, formerly of Waynesfield, died Monday, Nov. 7, 2011, at his residence.
He was born July 1, 1951, in Lima, the son of Patricia and Clarence F. Swartz. His mother survives and his father preceded him in death. His wife of 28 years, Joann S. Swartz, also survives.
Also surviving are two sons, 1st Lt. Matthew Swartz, USAF, of Minot, N.D., Mark Swartz, of Lancaster; a sister, Cyndy Kohler, of Waynesfield; a niece, Alicia Kohler; two great-nephews, and two uncles, John (Jo) Swartz and Carl (Anise) Swartz.
Also preceding him in death were his grandparents, Emil and Vera Copeland, and Clarence R. and Pauline L. Swartz.
He was a 1969 graduate of Waynesfield-Goshen High School, and received his B.S. in education from the Ohio State University. He was a former Industrial Arts teacher at Upper Scioto Valley schools, and was former sales manager at National Meter Parts in Lancaster. He was a member of Wayne Lodge 569 F. & A.M. in Waynesfield
Services are at 10 a.m. Saturday at Lithopolis United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Russ Tichenor officiating. Interment will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Walnut Hill Cemetery in Lakeview.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the church.
Arrangements are being handled by Dwayne R. Spence Funeral Home in Canal Winchester.
