Spring is right around the corner, and with that will come several events at Wapakoneta City Schools. Below is a list that details many of these events, broken down by school.
Wapakoneta High School
• On March 14, the Wapakoneta Athletic Boosters will host a fundraiser that will feature former Cincinnati Bengals players and Wapakoneta All Stars in an exhibition basketball game at the Wapakoneta High School gymnasium. There will also be an autograph session at halftime. Doors will open at 6 p.m. and the game will start at 7 p.m. Tickets are $8 in advance and $10 at the door. Proceeds will benefit the Wapakoneta Athletic Boosters.
Wapakoneta Middle School
• Beginning March 17, a two-week fundraiser called "Pennies for Patients" will begin at the middle school. "Pennies for Patients" is a national campaign that encourages students to donate their pennies to benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. The goal is to raise $4,000 during this year's fundraiser.
"One of the reasons we do it is because the money goes toward the Ohio chapter of the organization,"
Wapakoneta Elementary School
• The Ronald's Walk kickoff assembly will take place on April 17 and will feature "Minute to Win It" games performed by WES teachers and students, and a guest speaker who will discuss the Ronald McDonald House.
