Sheriff Al Solomon
A man found dead at his Fryburg home Friday, appears to have died of natural causes, although the investigation continues, Auglaize County Sheriff Al Solomon said this morning.
Solomon this morning released additional details surrounding the death of Michael L. McClintock, 60, of the home in the village southeast of Wapakoneta.
McClintock was found dead at the residence Friday morning by a relative. Deputies were dispatched to the scene at 8:30 a.m. and didn't leave until approximately 6 p.m.
"Autopsy results at this time do not indicate any signs of foul play in the death, although more autopsy investigation is being done," Solomon said.
Deputies, detectives and agents from the Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation (BCI&I) were on the scene all day Friday trying to determine if the death was natural or if foul play was involved. After an investigation, the body was taken to Toledo, where an autopsy was performed.
An obituary brief in today’s newspaper places the time of death on Tuesday.
"There were some indications at the scene that we were not sure about, but now could possibly have been a result of medical complications," Solomon said. "BCI&I agents and our deputies and detectives worked to determine this. It appears at this point as a result of investigations by BCI&I agents and our office that the death was due to natural causes. However, just like any investigation, we will remain diligent to make sure this is the case."
