A night of singing, dancing, awards, dinner and much more will help close out the season for this year’s members of the Wapakoneta Singsation.
On Friday, Singsation will present their Cabaret, beginning with dinner at 5:30 p.m. in the Wapakoneta High School cafeteria. Although tickets for the dinner portion are no longer available, members of the community are encouraged to buy tickets for the show portion of the evening for $5. Those tickets will be available at the Performing Arts Center door starting at 6:45 p.m.
Dezi Ayers, Cabaret general chairperson, said the show will begin at 7 p.m. and there will be silent auction items to bid on throughout the evening. Guests are also able to purchase raffle tickets for different raffled off items throughout the night.
“The Cabaret Dinner is designed as a way to wrap up the show choir season. Dinner is served to parents and other guests by the show choir students. It is a night for us all to get dressed up and enjoy an evening of song and dance,” Ayers said. “It is also used as a fundraiser for our show choir to help with expenses, including costumes, make-up, backdrops, and travel. All raffle and silent auction items are donated to help with the fundraising for our program.”
Wapakoneta Choral Music Society President, Anita Foor, said Cabaret is an evening for the kids to let their hair down and have fun.
“It has been a long year of late night rehearsals and long competition days,” Foor said. “This allows the kids to have fun and show their family and friends the competition show they have performed all season, as well as perform their own something they chose to showcase or have fun with.”
