Shirley M. (Newland) Rasor, 85, died at 6:43 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2013, at Hilty Memorial Home in Pandora, Ohio.
Rasor was born to Bassit and Edna (Rapp) Newland on March 9, 1928 in Waynesfield.
She married Charles “Ote” Rasor on Aug. 30, 1947, and he survives in Cairo. Rasor was a graduate of Blume High School in Wapakoneta, class of 1946. She had worked at ExCellO Corporation, retiring after 30 years of employment. She was a member of the Cairo United Methodist Church. Shirley loved sewing, cooking and traveling, and she was an avid photographer.
Survivors include one son, Mark (Melody) Rasor, of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; two daughters, Debra (Douglas) Stratton, of Cairo, and Janis (Robert) Mulcahy, of Lima; one sister, Emily Koth, of Indian Lake; one brother, George “Bud” (Marcheta) Newland, of Boise, Idaho; seven grandchildren, Jeremiah (Stacy) Stratton, Shane (Lorie) Stratton, Kaila (Matt) Cook, Kaitlin Mulcahy, Casey Mulcahy, Aaron (Brandy Wells) Rasor, and Zachary Rasor; five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Fred Rasor; one brother, Mike Newland.
Services will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday at Hartman Sons Funeral Home in Columbus Grove, Ohio, with Pastor Rich Rakay officiating.
Burial will be at Cairo Eastside Cemetery in Cairo. Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. on Friday at Hartman Sons Funeral Home in Columbus Grove at 419-659-2202.
Memorial contributions can be made to Cairo United Methodist Church or Cairo Rescue Squad.
