Sherri Lynn (Cotter) Butts, 56, of Pensacola, Fla., formerly of Waynesfield, died at 4:48 p.m. Thursday, June 21, 2012, at Community Health Professionals Inpatient Hospice Center, in Van Wert.
She was born March 15, 1956, in Lima, the daughter of Pauline (Duff) and Jack Cotter, who survive in Waynesfield.
Other survivors include, two sons, Hurst and Evan Butts, of Pensacola, Fla.; siblings, Craig (Teresa) Cotter, of Waynesfield, Jacqueline (Cotter) Brown, of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Joline (Tim) Shobe, of New Hampshire; and nieces and nephews, Aaron and Lindsey (Cotter) Buchholz, of Aldergrove, British Columbia, Eric (Hannah) Cotter, of Wapakoneta, Isaac, Eli and Ian Cotter, of Waynesfield, and Lexxie and Chandler Brown, of Salt Lake City, Utah.
She loved and cherished her many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Sherri was involved in organizing many community service projects in each town she resided in throughout her life. In Pensacola during the past 12 years, she was an active member of the Mardi Gras â€śCrew of Sevilleâ€ť and charities in Escambia and Sarasota counties.
She always looked out for and found the good in every situation and in each person she met. She always gave fully of herself to others.
Her greatest joy came from being surrounded by her family, friends, pets and music.
Funeral services are scheduled for 3 p.m. Sunday at Bayliff & Eley Funeral Home, State Route 501, in Wapakoneta, with the Revs. Jeff Jenkins and Willie Duff officiating.
The family plans to receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday and from 1 p.m. until the time of service Sunday at the funeral home.

Her family would like to express thanks to the staff on 5K at St. Ritaâ€™s Medical Center and especially to the amazing staff at Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center. The level of compassion and care shown to Sherri and her family were unsurpassed. God bless you all.
