Staff Reports

The Auglaize County Sheriff issued the following statement regarding a former employee on Monday afternoon:

Sheriff Solomon advised that his office was made aware of an incident that occurred during the evening hours of December 9th and early morning hours of December 10th, 2018, in which allegations were made against Brian Vernon. The allegations stem from an incident that occurred while Brian Vernon was off duty and did not occur on Sheriff's Office Property or any other Auglaize County Property. Once the Sheriff's Office was made aware of the allegations, Brian Vernon was immediately placed on Administrative Leave.

The Auglaize County Sheriff's Office requested an outside agency, per protocol, to conduct an Investigation into this matter. On Monday, March 5th, 2018, Brian Vernon did voluntarily resign from the Auglaize County Sheriff's Office. The alleged charges are Assault, Misdemeanor of the 1st degree, and Sexual Imposition, a Misdemeanor of the 3rd degree. Since criminal charges have been filed, and the Investigation is ongoing, the Sheriff's Office is unable to comment any further at this time.
