Scott Murray, 81

Scott K. Murray, 81, of Wapakoneta, died at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2011, at his residence.
He was born Dec. 31, 1929, in Bluffton, the son of Ethel (Scoles) and Nile Murray, who preceded him in death. On Sept. 8, 1948, he married Patricia J. O’Brien, and she died July 18, 2005.
Surviving are four children, Jeff (Elizabeth D.) Murray, of Wapakoneta, Marie Madeiros, of Wapakoneta, Kelly (Martha) Murray, of Botkins, Julie (Nathan) Martin, Yankton, S.D.; a former daughter-in-law, Druscilla Caudill, of Cresent City, Fla.; a special friend and companion, Macky Thompson, and her daughter, Nikki, of Wapakoneta; 15 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; three siblings, Jeanette (Max) Miller, of Loveland, Maurice (Dolores) Murray, of Seattle, Wash., Marilyn (Howard) Shelly, of Bluffton.
He was preceded in death by a son, Thomas “Tom” Murray; and a brother and sister-in-law, Roger and Kay Murray.
He worked as an electrician and high voltage lineman with the Ohio Power Co., and later with the city of Wapakoneta and the city of St. Marys. He was a member of the NRA., a charter member of the Shawnee Long Rifle Association, and SOFA (Southern Ohio Forge Assn.) His hobbies included gunsmithing, blacksmithing, and playing the mandolin.
A Celebration of Life will be at 1 p.m., Sat. Sept. 10, 2011, at Scott’s woods.
Arrangements are being handled by the Bayliff & Eley Funeral Home in Wapakoneta.
