Schwieterman Pharmacy in Minster broken into

June 21, 2011

MINSTER — Officers in Minster are investigating a break-in at a local pharmacy.
At approximately 2:40 a.m. Monday, officers responded to an alarm at Schwieterman Pharmacy, 324 N. Main St. When officers arrived, they reportedly spotted an individual wearing dark clothing who was fleeing the building. Officers gave chase before losing the suspect behind houses in the neighborhood.
Officers from the New Bremen Police Department, deputies from the Auglaize and Shelby County sheriff’s offices and troopers from the Wapakoneta Post of the Ohio Highway Patrol assisted in the search.
According to a news release issued by Minster Police Chief Randy Houseworth, prescription drugs appear to have been the target. A trash can containing bottles of medications was left at the scene.
“We have a person of interest and that’s about as far as I want to go with that,” Houseworth said this morning.
He also said he is unaware of any similar break-ins in the village but noted New Bremen had one “a month or two ago.”
He said at this time, he was unsure of they are related.
There is a Schwieterman Pharmacy located in Wapakoneta, too.
Anyone with information is encouraged to call the Minster Police Department at 419-628-2378.
