Ruth Haberman, 83

Ruth Mariam Wilges Dersham Haberman, 83, of Delphos, formerly of Elida, died Saturday, Jan. 7, 2012, at Van Crest of Delphos.
She was born May 10, 1928, in Logan Township, Auglaize County, the daughter of Millie (Place) and Clifford Wilges, who preceded her in death. On June 1, 1946, she married Ivan Dersham, and he died Nov. 8, 1960. Then in 1979, she married Chuck Haberman, and he died in 1989.
Surviving are three daughters, Brenda Lehman, of Elida, Tana (Warren) Dobbins, of Lima, and Elaine (James) Knaack, of Waterloo, Iowa; five grandchildren, Christopher (Heidi) Dobbins, Roger (Jen) Lehman, Jr., Donnie Fisher, Jenny (Brandon) Blaine, and Cory (Lisa) Fisher; 13 great-grandchildren; a brother, Dale (Lois) Wilges, of Buckland; two sisters, Barbara Krites, of Buckland, and Sharon Wilges, of Buckland.
She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Roger Lehman, and a brother Darrell “Slim” Wilges.
A homemaker, Ruth worked as head housekeeper at The Ahwanhee Hotel, Yosemite National Park, Calif. She also worked as a private home caregiver. She enjoyed crafts, especially ceramics, fishing, square dancing, polka dancing, and caring for her dog, Miss Pooh. She was a 1946 graduate of Buckland High School.
Services are at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday at the Bayliff & Eley Funeral Home, State Route 501, Wapakoneta, with the Rev. Adrian Sunday officiating. Burial will follow in the Buckland Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m., Tuesday and 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
