Roy Kohler, 86

Roy M. Kohler, 86, of Wapakoneta, died at 12:05 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2012, at The Living Center in St. Marys.
He was born July 10, 1925, in St. Marys, the son of Maud (Coldwell) and Andrew Kohler, who preceded him in death. On July 17, 1948, he married Stella V. Gross, and she survives.
Also surviving are two brothers, Bob Kohler, of St. Marys, and Chuck (Beth) Kohler, of Wapakoneta; two sisters, Betty Weaver, of St. Marys, and Barb (Wilbur) Brubaker, of St. Marys; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother Clarence, and three sisters, Mary Larsh, Mildred Kohler, and Ethel Wibbeler.
Roy retired from Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co., St. Marys, after 39 years of service. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during World War II in the European Theater. He was a life member of the Wapakoneta V.F.W., Post 8445, and a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, Aerie 767, St. Marys. He enjoyed the outdoors, and mowing grass.
Services are at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Long & Folk Chapel of Bayliff & Eley Funeral Home, 13 S. Blackhoof St., Wapakoneta, with the Rev. R.J. Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the Resthaven Memory Gardens near Moulton, where military rites will be conducted by the Wapakoneta VFW.
