This Saturday, the Wapakoneta Rotary Club is hosting its fourth annual wine and dine event at the Grand Plaza, located at 913 Defiance St. The event starts at 6 p.m. and tickets are $50 a piece.
Rotary Club vice president Nicole Bowen said this is the largest fundraiser they do each year and the funds raised support the club’s commitment to the Wapakoneta High School tennis courts.
The wine and dine event has a casino theme this year and will offer a filet and chicken menu catered by Lock Sixteen, and unlimited wine tasting of six wine varieties. On top of the wining and dining there will be three separate auctions and a variety of casino games available.
“We are doing a live auction and actually two different types of silent auctions,” she said. “We are also doing a casino theme, so there will be casino tables available for them to gamble and have a little bit of fun for the event.”
By offering corporate tables this year Bowen believes the Rotary Club can raise more funds than the previous goal of $5,000.
“We just had our meeting today (Tuesday) and we’ve doubled our ticket sales by offering the corporate sponsorship this year,” Bowen said. “We’ve been able to secure twice as many items for the auction as well, so we’re really hoping that maybe we could even get this to $6,500 or so if possible.”
