Roland R. Truesdale, 77, of rural Elida, died Thursday evening, Sept. 19, 2013, at his residence.
He was born Dec. 28, 1935, in Lima, the son of Gladys B. (Brentlinger) and Russell A. Truesdale, who preceded him in death. On July 1, 1956, he married Alice J. Ramga, and she died Feb. 9, 2011.
Survivors include two daughters, Merlene (Mike) OâNeill, of Galena, and Rhonda (Matt) Harlow, of Niles, Mich.; three grandchildren, Emily, Evan and Amanda; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Charles (Janice) Ramga, Mary (Addis) Katterheinrich, Imogene Roser, Virginia Hardesty, Marlene (Joseph) Elliott, Phyllis Ramga, and Alfrieda Ramga; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Roland worked from 1959 until 1993 at the Ford Motor Co., Lima Engine Plant. He was a 1953 graduate of Buckland High School. His hobbies included hunting, archery, collecting Indian artifacts, metal detecting, and in his younger years, riding motorcycles.
A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Buckland Cemetery, with the Rev. Jeanette Tangeman officiating.
There is to be no public visitation.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the American Arthritis Foundation.
