Roger Mathews, 87

Roger E. Mathews, 87, of Lima, died at 1:26 a.m. Wednesday, June 22, 2011, at Lima Memorial Health Systems.
He was born April 12, 1924, in Lima, the son of Esther Foulke and Ross U. Mathews. On Nov. 19, 1942, he married Betty Bernadine Stoner, who died Jan. 14, 2007.
Surviving are two sons, Mike (Barbara) Mathews, of Harrod, Mark (Mary) Mathews, of Waynesfield; and a daughter, Sandra Dunlap, of Lima.
He was preceded in death by a son, Clark Mathews.
Services are at 10 a.m. Friday ay Bayliff & Son Funeral Home in Cridersville, the Rev. Don Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Lima with full military rites observed by the VFW Post 8445 of Wapakoneta.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today and 9 to 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
