Robert "Bob" Shobe, 81

Robert “Bob” Shobe, 81, died at 8:02 p.m. Monday, Nov. 25, 2013, at Kindred Hospital, Lima.

He was born July 8, 1932, in Akron to Robert and Opal (Baird) Shobe. On Nov. 4, 1951, he married Mildred Morris who preceded him in death. On Aug. 9, 1997, he married Joyce Huffer, and she survives in Waynesfield. 

Other survivors include children, Steve (Paula) Shobe, Britton, Michigan, Greg (Tami) Shobe, of Waynesfield, Tim (Joline) Shobe, Lakeview, Terry (Craig) Cotter, of Waynesfield, Jean-Paul (Rita) Tiendrebeogo, of Bellefontaine, Michele (John) Weddle, of Jackson Center, Kreg (Lori) Huffer, of Jackson Center, Rex (Chris) Huffer. of Lakeview; brother, Lee (Sally) Shobe, Tuscon, Ariz.; 29 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter. 

He was preceded in death by two great granddaughters. 

Bob graduated from Waynesfield Goshen High School in 1950. He worked with his father in plumbing, heating, and electrical at Shobe Electric until 1967. In 1967, Bob joined the Electricians Union. He worked for Spartan Electric and Reynolds Electric. He retired in 1996. He has been a long time member of the New Hampshire Community Church and was very involved in the Emmaus Community. He was an avid runner and participated in countless triathalons and 5k runs. He had a passion for helping others in the community and in Burkina Faso, West Africa.

Bob was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather. His presence will be greatly missed in their lives. They rejoice that he is with his Heavenly Father. 

Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 2, at New Hampshire Community Church (formerly New Hampshire United Methodist Church). Burial will follow at Walnut Hill Cemetery, New Hampshire. 

Friends may call from 2-6 p.m. Sunday at the church and one hour prior to the services on Monday. 

Contributions may be given to New Hampshire Community Church or Children’s Medical Missions. Arrangements are by Armentrout Funeral Home, Waynesfield. Condolences may be expressed at: armentroutfuneralhome.com.
