Robert Badertscher, 60

Robert J. Badertscher, 60, of Wapakoneta, died at 2:55 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2012, at the Wapakoneta Manor.
He was born Dec. 29, 1951, in Bluffton, the son of Ruth (Drury) and Loraine Badertscher, who preceded him in death.
Surviving is a long time companion, Betty J. Hertenstein; three sons, Brian Badertscher, of Wapakoneta, George (Doris) Badertscher, of Wapakoneta, and Shawn (Erica) Metzger, of Wapakoneta; a step-son, Jason Hertenstein, of Wapakoneta; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a sister, Phyllis (Floyd) Dye, of Lima; two step-brothers, Gene (Gloria) Hoover, of Arizona, and Joe (Sue) Hoover Jr., of Lima.
He was preceded in death by a step-brother, Roger Hoover.
Robert was a C&C lathe operator at Global Precision Parts in Ottoville. He enjoyed NASCAR and going fishing.
Services are at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Bayliff & Eley Funeral Home, State Route 501, Wapakoneta, with the Rev. Shawn Morris officiating. Burial will follow in the Truro Cemetery in Columbus Grove.
Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday and 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
