Robert “Wes” Orphal, 66

Robert “Wes” Orphal, 66, went home to be with the Lord on July 27, 2013 in Cape Coral, Fla.
He was born in Lima, on Dec. 30, 1946, son of Robert Gene and Marguerite (Hunt) Orphal of Wapakoneta, who preceded him in death.
Wes married Fran (Kehr) Orphal on Sept. 30, 1983, and she survives in Cape Coral. Other survivors include two children, Rodney Orphal of Colorado Springs, Colo. and Shelly Raney of Ft. Wayne, Ind; three grandchildren, Sarisa Orphal, Jonathon Raney, and Mikhail Bower; one great-granddaughter, Zayla Orphal; and three sisters, Joan Morris, Sally Routt, Barb Geib; five nephews and one niece from Wapakoneta.
Wes retired from Century Link Phone Company (formally United Telephone)
after 41 years of service .  He also a veteran of four years in the U.S. Navy serving three tours of duty in Vietnam as a Navy Seal.  A 1964 graduate of St. Joseph High School, he received a BA degree in business from Concordia University .
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday at the Bayliff & Eley Funeral Home, St. Rt. 501, Wapakoneta, with the Rev. Daniel Hunt officiating.
Burial is to follow in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Wapakoneta, where military rites will be conducted by the Wapakoneta V.F.W. Post 8445.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
