Rita Oehlhof, 86

Rita Mary Oehlhof, 86, formerly of Spencerville, and the Defiance Commons in Wapakoneta, died at 9:10 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 18, 2012, at the Auglaize Acres, where she had resided three years.
She was born March 25, 1926, in Toledo, the daughter of Clara D. (Lewandowski) and Walter J. Reed, who are deceased. On Sept. 14, 1946, she married John Frederick Oehlhof, who also resides at the Auglaize Acres.
Also surviving are a daughter, Pamela J. (Jerry) Knoch, of Wapakoneta; three sons, Paul E. (LeAnn Warnecke) Oehlhof, of Spencerville; James A. (Barbara) Oehlhof, of Wapakoneta, and Thomas W. (Kristin Huelsman) Oehlhof of Ottawa; seven grandchildren, Carrie Knoch, of Wapakoneta, Chris (Cameron) Ford, of Spencerville, Sara Oehlhof, of Spencerville; Rick (Christie) Oehlhof, of North Carolina, Joe (Kristen) Oehlhof, of California, Marty Oehlhof, of Fort Wayne, Ind. and Kevin (Marissa) Oehlhof, of Cincinnati; and 11 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a granddaughter; Staci Oehlhof; and five siblings, Dorothy Belair, Edward Reed, Frank Reed, Walter Reed and John Reed.
Mrs. Oehlhof was retired as a receptionist for Drs. Robert Doernberg and William Wright in Spencerville for many years. She was a member of the Spencerville United Church of Christ and was a life member of the Bowersock Brothers VFW Post 6772 Auxiliary and also the Harry J. Reynolds American Legion Post 191, both of Spencerville.
Services are at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Spencerville United Church of Christ,. with the Rev. Vince Lavieri officiating. Burial will be at a later date at Spencerville Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville and 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the church. The VFW Auxiliary will conduct memorial services at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Contributions may be made to the Auglaize Acres Activity Fund.
