Rita L. Dailey, 81, of Wapakoneta, died at 8:30 a.m., on her birthday, Friday, May 2, 2014, at Auglaize Acres. She was born May 2, 1933, in Wapakoneta, the daughter of Anthony T. and Marie (Archer) Drexler, who preceded her in death. On April 18, 1951, she married Perry Eugene “Gene” Dailey, and he died July 14, 2010.

Survivors include 11 children, Perry A. (Sue) Dailey, of Orland Park, Ill., James Dailey, of Wapakoneta, Rick (Roxanne) Dailey, Donald (Sue) Dailey, both of Cridersville, Jerry (Helen) Dailey, of Willard, Ohio, Larry (Lisa) Dailey, of St. Henry, Ohio, Rose Martin, of Lima, Linda (Richard) Morey, of Dayton, Connie (Joey) Hillman, of Kenton, Ohio, Carol Dailey, of Cridersville, Tina (Melvin) Applin, of Wapakoneta; 29 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren; a brother, Alfred (Mae) Drexler, of Wapakoneta.

She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Mary Dailey; three grandchildren, Joseph, Garrett and Aubrey; a sister, Helen Steinke; brothers, Walter, Harold, Andy and Clyde.

A homemaker, Rita worked 15 years as manager of the Wapa Theater. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, in Wapakoneta, and attended St. Joseph High School. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, May 6, 2014, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Wapakoneta, with Rev. Daniel Hunt officiating. Burial is to follow in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, in Wapakoneta.The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m., Monday, at the Bayliff & Eley Funeral Home, state Route 501, Wapakoneta.
