There’s always something to be learned.
St. Marys edged Wapakoneta 38-30 in a dual meet Thursday with momentum swinging back-and-forth before ending in favor of the Roughriders.
Wapakoneta won five of the nine contested matches, but St. Marys was able to get consecutive pins at 138 and 145, plus a tech fall at 182. That along with three forfeits by the Redskins gave St. Marys the edge for the match.
It was the first dual meet of the season for both teams.
Despite the defeat, Wapakoneta coach Jason Rostorfer had praise for his squad. “It was a good effort. We can work on techniques in practice.” he said afterward.
