Richard Lee “Dick” Wills Sr., 80, of Portland, Texas, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 12, 2012, in Portland, Texas.
He was born Jan. 1, 1932, in Wapakoneta, the son of Bessie Darst and James Pete Wills. He married Dee Wills, who died Jan. 19, 2002 after 47 years of marriage.
Surviving are a son, Richard Lee (Debbie) Wills Jr., of Portland, Texas; two daughters, Teri (David) Wills Allison, of Austin, Texas, and Kim (Tom) Price of Magnolia, Texas; a brother, Jim Wills, of Wapakoneta; three sisters, Betty Hemmert, of Wapakoneta, Dorothy “Dot” Hobler, of Moulton, and Catherine “Nan” Harris, of Johnson, RI.; six grandchildren, Nick (Tracy) Allison, Meridith (Joe Trent) Allison, TaylorPrice, Rachel Price, Derek Wills and Ryan Scott; and five great-grandchildren, James Allison, Leo Allison, Megan Carrigan, Ava Carrigan and Paityn Carrigan.
He was preceded by his wife, his parents, two brothers and three sisters.
He loved his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also loved woodworking, yard work, dove hunting ,golf and salt water fishing.
Friends may call from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home Chapel in Aransas Pass, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given to the St. Jude Children’s Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the funeral home.
