Richard M. “Rick” McCormick, 56

Richard M. “Rick” McCormick, 56, of Wapakoneta, died at 7:50 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2014, at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima. He was born July 10, 1958, in Lima, the son of Richard M. “Dick” and Jacqueline “Jackie” (Frost) McCormick. His parents survive in Wapakoneta.

Other survivors include, a brother and sister-in-law, John and Nancy McCormick, of Wapakoneta; a niece, Shana (Joe) Stober; a nephew, Austin; aunts and uncles, Camile (Ivo) Kramer, Karen (Jim) Smithey, Marilyn Blackburn, Carmen (Larry) Dardio and Arlene (Jim) Roser; numerous cousins; and his dogs, Alex and Riley.

Rick worked as a restaurateur and a DJ. He also taught all types of dancing. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, Aerie #691, both of Wapakoneta. He was a movie buff and collected all kinds of music. He also enjoyed gardening and was an excellent cook.  

Services will be held at 6 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 24, 2014, at the Bayliff & Eley Funeral Home, state Route 501, Wapakoneta, with Rev. Patrick Sloneker officiating. Burial will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery at a later date. The family will receive friends from 2-6 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
