Richard J. â€śDickâ€ť Jurosic, 76, of Wapakoneta, died at 7:28 a.m. Tuesday, June 12, 2012, at St. Ritaâ€™s Medical Center in Lima.
He was born March 31, 1936, in Wapakoneta, the son of Louise A. (Schmith) and Ivan J. Jurosic, who preceded him in death. On Dec. 26, 1959, he married Marilyn A. Elsass, and she died May 6, 2009.
Surviving is a daughter, Diane (Dennis) Clarcq, of Chapel Hill, N.C.; three sons, Mark Jurosic, of Wapakoneta, John (Brenda) Jurosic, of Wapakoneta, and Tim (Krista) Jurosic, of Anna; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three sisters, Dorothy (Bob) Fritz, of St. Marys, Betty (Mick) Thompson, of Bonita Springs, Fla. and Judy Jurosic, of Bonita Springs, Fla.
He was preceded in death by seven siblings, Carolyn Fisher, Robert Jurosic, Margaret Jane Kennedy, Kathryn â€śKateâ€ť Volbert, Evelyn â€śEppieâ€ť Smith, James â€śJimâ€ť Jurosic, and Joseph Jurosic.
Dick retired in 1997 as a machinist at Wapakoneta Machine Co., after over 40 years of service. A graduate of St. Joseph High School in Wapakoneta, he was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a member of St. John Catholic Church in Fryburg. His other memberships included the K of C Council 1272, the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, Aerie 691, and the V.F.W. Post 8445, all of Wapakoneta. He enjoyed spending time with his friends at the Wapakoneta McDonaldâ€™s Restaurant.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday at St. John Catholic Church in Fryburg, with the Rev. Oscar Seger officiating. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery in Fryburg, where military rites will be conducted by the Wapakoneta V.F.W.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Bayliff & Eley Funeral Home, St. Rt. 501, Wapakoneta.
