Richard Joseph, 87

Richard Joseph, 87, died at 9:05 p.m. Saturday, March 10, 2012, at his residence.
He was born on Sept. 14,1924, in Hardin County, the only child of Lillian (Hicks) and Warney Joseph. His parents died before he was two years old, so his maternal grandparents raised him. He had been married to Betty L. (Tackett) Joseph for more than 60 years and she preceded him in death on Dec. 30, 2010.
Two daughters survive him, Patricia A. (John H.) Johnson, of Lima and Debra K. (Kenneth) Nester, of Wapakoneta. He is survived by two granddaughters, Angela Nicole Nester (Kevin) McGlothen and Kelli Ann Nester (Austin) Fisher, both of Wapakoneta, and a step-granddaughter, Mindi Hoge, of Las Vegas, Nevada. A grandson, John Richard Joseph Johnson, of Lima, better known as J.J, survives him. Five great-granddaughters also survive, Karsyn, Rilyn, and Lynex McGlothen and Berkley and Lauryn Fisher.
A veteran of World War II, Richard served in the Navy where he was honorably discharged, having served in the Pacific Theatre. He retired in 1986 as a foreman from Teledyne/Ohio Steel where he had worked for over 40 years.

Arrangements are by Bayliff and Son in Cridersville. Burial will be in Preston Cemetery in Alger. There will be no visitation or public services.
