Richard Hormann, 86

Richard D. “Babe” Hormann, 86, of Wapakoneta, died at 2:45 p.m. Friday, Dec. 14, 2012, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in St. Marys.
He was born June 23, 1926, in Wapakoneta, the son of Anna (Zink) and Henry Hormann, who preceded him in death. On Nov. 17, 1951, he married Jean Ann Mougey, and she survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Amy (Steven) Jameson, of Cincinnati, and Carrie Paul, of New Bremen; seven grandchildren, Adrianne Jameson, Anthony Jameson, Amanda Jameson, Rachael (Michael) Kohnen, Madeline Paul, Anna Paul, and Molly Paul; and three great-grandchildren, Hailie Yelton, Aubrey Yelton, and Gracie Kohnen.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Hormann.
Richard retired as treasurer of Superior Wholesale Distributors/ R.G. Dun Cigar Corp. in Lima after 49 years service. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, and the Knights of Columbus, Council 1272, both of Wapakoneta. A 1944 graduate of St. Joseph High School, he was also a 1946 graduate of the Lima School of Commerce. He had volunteered for 10 years at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital.
Services are at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Long & Folk Chapel of Bayliff & Eley Funeral Home, 13 S. Blackhoof St., Wapakoneta, with the Rev. Dan Hunt officiating. Burial of the cremated remains will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Wapakoneta.
Friends may call from noon to 2 pm. Tuesday at the funeral home.
