CRIDERSVILLE — Cridersville residents raised property concerns regarding village improvement and beautification projects in the village.Â
Cridersville resident Greg Joseph brought his concern about a recent tree planted near his property during Monday’s Cridersville Village Council meeting.Â
Joseph said two previous trees caused damage to the sidewalk in front of his house, among other issues, such as falling debris.Â
“I’m not going to let this council decide what’s best for my property,” Joseph told councilors.
He said he did not want to be responsible for maintaining the tree and the possible damage the trees are capable of causing.
Councilor Stacey Cook said Joseph’s property is on a right-of-way of the municipality.Â
“Living in a municipality, especially when you live on a Main Street of a municipality, we have to realize there are responsibilities and expectations of living in a zoned community that has a council and that has beautification projects,” Cook said.Â
