Redskins stay unbeaten with sweep of Defiance

The undefeated Wapakoneta Redskins won their third consecutive Western Buckeye League match in as many days with a 5-0 victory Thursday over the Defiance Bulldogs in a varsity girls tennis match at the Wapakoneta Rotary Courts.
The win pushed Wapak to 9-0 overall and 6-0 in the WBL with three league matches remaining this season.
At first singles, Kaitlin Snider beat Kristine Shannon, 6-0, 6-3. In second singles action, Allie Zofkie shut out Natalie Castillo, 6-0, 6-0. In the third singles match, Rachel Roberts blanked Sammy Foss, 6-0, 6-0.
Kiersten Wellons and Chelsea Myers handled Laura Castillo and Courtney Polce, 6-1, 6-0, in the first doubles match. Carly Buzzard and Mackenzie Kaverman topped Karen Krontz and Danielle Vance, 6-2, 6-2, at second doubles.
The Redskins will continue their season at home Monday against the Ottawa-Glandorf Titans in WBL action.
